Boardwalk
oa10_102.jpg (115771 bytes) oa10_103.jpg (132686 bytes) The Boardwalk is yet another innovation that has been introduced for the first time on the Oasis of the Seas and then rolled out subsequently to the Allure of the Seas.  As guests enter the Boardwalk from the Aft Lobby on deck six, they are welcomed with a view of the beautiful carousel.  As guests approach the carousel, they pass a series of sculptures showing the carving process from block of wood to the finished carousel horse.

Design of the carousel mostly followed traditional methods save for some critical differences such as each piece being hollowed out in order for the set up to be as light as possible.  The carousel also was treated to additional coats of sealant in order for it to be further protected from the elements.  It was also needed to put the mechanics of the carousel to the test to ensure that it would continue rotating even if tilting at an angle with choppy seas.

Along the Boardwalk is a whimsical line up of dining venues all themed with the spirit of the seaside such as fresh donuts at the Boardwalk Donut Shop, hamburgers at Johnny Rockets, sweet treats at Candy Beach, and fresh crab at the Seafood Shack.  The Ice Cream Parlor offers generous helpings with a large variety of flavours and toppings.  All ice cream is made daily by a team of talented pasty chefs.

Guests can use their imagination to bring their very own pet to life at Pets at Sea.  At Smile, guests can partake in a boardwalk tradition of staging a photo with over one hundred costumes of their choosing.
