Lido Deck

The Greenhouse Spa concept was originally established on the Vista Class of ships (beginning with Zuiderdam) and its success has lead to the extension of this concept throughout the fleet.

As all other Holland America Line ships have undergone the Signature of Excellence enhancements, they have been upgraded from having the Ocean Spa to the Greenhouse Spa.

The Greenhouse Spa consists of a fitness center, dual saunas, dual steam rooms, massage rooms, beauty salon, thermal suite, and relaxation rooms.
The thermal suite consists of a hydrotherapy pool, heated ceramic lounge chairs, and steam and sauna areas that are accented with invigorating scents.
Amidships on Lido Deck is the main pool and is trumpeted by 'Leaping Dolphins' by Susannah Holt from England.  These bottle-nose dolphins are made primarily of bronze and weigh nearly two tons.
The Lido Deck pool area also offers alternative dining options such as the Terrace Grill.  Here guests can enjoy hamburgers, tacos, fries, and other casual treats.

The Lido Restaurant is Veendam's casual dining venue and serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet style.  The buffet is divided into sections making it easy for guests to get exactly what they would like.  Dessert, salad, and ice cream parlor stations are just a few example.  Guests may enjoy casual dinner in the early evening hours in the Lido Restaurant as an alternative to formal dining in the Rotterdam Dining Room.

Above : Looking over the activities in the Lido Restaurant is this sandstone garden statue of Neptune. Above Right : This aft staircase leads up to the Club HAL facilities.  Accenting this staircase is a tapesty by Dutch artist Jan Snoeck titled, 'Up and Down'.
