Promenade Deck

Located forward on Promenade and Upper Promenade Deck is the 600 seat capacity Rembrandt Lounge.  The Rembrandt Lounge serves as Maasdam's main show lounge by evening and hosts a variety of other functions as well.

The Rembrandt Lounge is accented with many elements that show Maasdam's Dutch tradition such as Delft tile work throughout.

Amidships on Promenade Deck are essential guest services such as the Front Office and Shore Excursions Desk.  The Front Office is open twenty-four hours each day and the Shore Excursions Desk has scheduled hours each day and the times are listed in the Daily Program.

Located between the Front Office and the Shore Excursions Desk is a bust of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.  The bust was created by Mrs. Nel van Lith and newly done for the Maasdam.

Aft of the Atrium on Promenade Deck are the Wine Tasting Bar and Gourmet Shops.  Guests can consult with a sommelier to select the perfect wine to enjoy at dinner on board or have sent home.

Also located within this area is the Wajang Theatre and Culinary Arts Center.  Guests can enjoy cooking demonstrations here by either one of the Maasdam's chefs or one of the featured celebrity chefs.  Cooking classes are also available in the Culinary Arts Center for a nominal fee where guests can learn hands on.  The same venue also serves as the ship's movie theatre during selected times throughout the cruise.

Between the Wajang Theatre and the Half Moon / Hudson Rooms is a wood carving from Sepik, New Guinea.  The lower legs and feet have been rotted by humidity and termites from having been placed in the Earth.  This carving dates from the early 20th Century.

Groups can make use of the meeting rooms located aft of the Wajang Theatre.  The Half Moon Room and Hudson room have a combined capacity for 150.  Each room can be used separately or combined for one larger event.

Located within the Hudson and Half Moon Rooms is a case that contains stoneware jars from Martaban, Southern China and they date back to the 17th Century.  Located therein is a pair of carved doors, a wooden bowl, and a wooden painted canoe.  The two Kris knives along with scabbard and dagger are from Java and from the 19th Century.
